Time & Location

Oct 28, 2023, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Cortlandt, 4 Crestview Ave, Cortlandt, NY 10567, USA

About The Event

After an introduction and smudging Evan will open with a single-pointed flute meditation and ensuing prayer, followed by some traditional drum songs. Playing guitar, Evan will sing his well-known Thank You Song and perhaps one other.

Then we will enjoy a talking feather circle (passing the feather clockwise) so that everyone gets a chance to speak.

Evan will talk about the gumwin or harvest gathering and the central role that gratitude plays, and also about the harvest of the seven fires and why gratitude is so important at this time.

We will close the circle in Mi'kmaq fashion followed by a book signing.

Evan Pritchard is also a professor of Algonquin studies
